Outside Counsel & Overflow Support
Litigation Support and Scalable Capacity for Law Firms
Legal workloads are not static. Cases intensify, deadlines stack, and sometimes staff quit, without warning. When that happens, law firms need more than temporary help. They need experienced legal support that integrates quickly and produces work at a high level.
AC Legal Consulting provides two forms of support for law firms: outside counsel for litigation matters and overflow support when capacity is stretched.

When to Engage Outside Counsel
• Your client is facing a lawsuit and needs litigation representation
• A matter requires trial-level strategy or deeper litigation experience
• You want to retain the client relationship while bringing in litigation support
• A case escalates beyond your firm’s current scope or bandwidth
Outside Counsel (Litigation Support)
For Attorneys with Clients Facing Litigation
We can take the lead on litigation or work alongside you depending on what best serves your client.
Not every firm handles litigation in-house and even firms that do may need additional support when a matter becomes more complex, more demanding, or more time-sensitive than expected. We step in as outside litigation counsel to support you and your client, without disrupting your relationship.
What We Handle
• Case evaluation and litigation strategy
• Pleadings, motions, and dispositive briefing
• Discovery planning, management, and analysis
• Deposition and trial preparation
• Appellate briefing and issue preservation
When Firms Use Overflow Support
• Sudden increases in caseload
• Trial or deadline compression
• Unexpected staff shortages or transitions
• Large or document-intensive matters
• The need to avoid turning away work
Overflow Support
When Your Caseload Outpaces Your Capacity
We integrate into your workflow quickly, require minimal oversight, and deliver work that aligns with your standards.
Even the most well-run firms encounter moments where demand exceeds bandwidth—trial preparation overlaps, deadlines converge, or key team members become unavailable. Overflow support allows you to maintain quality and meet deadlines without overextending your team.
How We Support Your Team
• Motion drafting and legal research
• Discovery review and management
• Brief writing and case development
• Appellate support
• Discrete project-based assignments

Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of matters do you support as outside counsel?
I focus on civil litigation and appellate work, primarily in Florida and pro hac vice where permitted. Typical matters include real estate disputes, foreclosure actions, and business disputes, along with related appeals.
Do you work directly with our clients, or only with the firm?
You decide. I can appear as outside litigation or appellate counsel with client‑facing responsibilities, or work entirely in the background while you remain the primary point of contact. The goal is to protect and strengthen your client relationship.
How do you plug into our existing systems and workflows?
I work within your existing tools and processes—your document system, case management platform, and communication channels—so my support feels like an extension of your team, not a separate shop with its own rules.
Can you help with a single motion or appeal, or do you require a full‑case engagement?
Both are options. Many firms bring me in for discrete projects—such as a key motion in a foreclosure or business dispute, or an appeal in a real estate matter. Others engage me for ongoing support across a case or portfolio when bandwidth is tight.
How quickly can you get involved in an active matter?
I can often step in on a compressed timeline, especially when hearings or briefing deadlines are already set. In our initial consultation, we’ll review posture, key dates, and scope so we can confirm a realistic plan and deliverables.
Do you replace our existing litigation counsel or supplement them?
I’m designed to supplement, not compete with, your existing relationships. I can support in‑house litigators, co‑counsel, or outside firms by adding capacity, strategy, and drafting support where it’s most needed—particularly in complex real estate, foreclosure, and business disputes.
How do you structure fees for overflow and outside counsel work?
Fee structures are tailored to the engagement. Depending on scope and timing, I may use hourly, flat‑fee, or project‑based arrangements (for example, for a specific motion or appeal). We’ll discuss options during your consultation so you can choose what fits your firm and client.
